System 70 Temperature Control Systems

  • The "System 70" operates using a thermoelectric solid state heat pump, digital controller and an electronic interface unit. This system will heat and cool by adding or removing heat from a compartment and exhausting it into the ambient cabin area.
  • Cooling: The "System 70" can cool approximately 20-40 degrees F* lower than the ambient cabin air temperature. Please monitor the cabin ambient air temperature during very hot days. The higher the cabin temperature rises from the external air temperature the less effective the cooling will be. One solution is to open a window, activating the on board ventilation system or installing a ventilation system.
  • Heating: The "System 70: can heat very efficiently. We have  seen compartments maintain a 75 degree F* warmer than external ambient temperature.
  • *Cooling and Heating temperature ranges depend on air flow in the area where the system is vented to, and the efficiency of the compartment insulation. Results will vary depending on application.
  • Ventilation: It is important to understand that by removing heat from the compartment it must go somewhere. Directing the heat to a small non ventilated area will raise the ambient air around the unit decreasing its efficiency. We advise that the unit vent into the largest, best ventilated area available. Utilizing extra brushless fans may increase efficiency. No equipment or obstructions can be stored around the heat pump.
  • Power Requirements: The "System 70" operates from the vehicles onboard 12 volt DC electrical system and will draw approximately 12 amps. This should not pose any problem when the vehicle is running or when hooked up to shore power provided the vehicle is equipped with an adequate shore power charging system. The "System 70" includes an on/off switch on the control panel to idle the system when not in use. To maintain compartment temperature the switch must be left on.
  • Operation: The "System 70" operates by programming the controller to the desired temperature. This will direct the unit to heat or cool as needed to maintain the set temperature. The readout will always show internal compartment temperature and by pressing the * button you can review the set temperature. The "System 70" is user friendly and easily field programmable by pressing the * button and using the up or down buttons to set the desired temperatures.

  • Technology used by NASA - Thermoelectric solid state heat pumps have no CFC gases, fluids or compressors.
  • The only moving parts are the maintenance free brush-less fans.
  • Fully Automatic - "System 70" continuously monitors the temperature in the compartment and will heat or cool as required.
  • Modular Design - There are four main components; a thermoelectric heat pump, ODYSSEY'S custom Electronic Interface, digital controller and a temperature probe. All components interconnect via custom wiring harness.
  • Digital Controller - "System 70" includes a digital controller that can be easily programmed in the field.
  • Easy Installation - Installation is as easy as mounting the heat pump to an insulated compartment, mounting the other three modular components and wiring the custom Electronic Interface to the on board 12 volt battery source. Turn on the switch next to the digital controller and the "System 70"  do the  rest.

  • Low Maintenance - Using almost all solid state components there is no maintenance less keeping the system clean.
  • Optional Timer Circuit - To prevent battery drain, Odyssey's optional timer circuit will keep the System 70 unit running for 20 minutes after ignition and shore power have been disconnected, then turns itself off.
  • Optional Back Up System - By using ODYSSEY'S back up system along with a gel cell battery the system can run as long as 5 hours or more when the battery or shore power is not available.
  • Custom Compartments Availability - ODYSSEY now offers custom insulated compartments that can fit into new or existing vehicles.  Check out the NEW TCC-100F

  • Warranty- "System 70" includes a one year limited warranty from defects in materials and workmanship.
